Emotions during the performance - actual or simulated? 🤔

With the return of sports and cultural events, this topic is again becoming relevant 🎭🎉

A couple of days ago, my student performed for the first time, and at one of the rehearsals, she admitted that she was afraid of the audience 🥶😱

I wondered - what advice should I give her so as not to be afraid?

Here are some tips that you might find helpful too.

♦️Entering the stage, I essentially feel invisible because I cease to be who I am in life - I enter the role, which means I cannot be seen! 🎭 you can only see who I am turning into on stage! I seem to be watching from the sidelines the story that I am playing out 🧐

If you succeed in reincarnating well, you will not care what others think of you. After all, your character in dance has completely different experiences. It is impossible to experience two emotions at the same time🤷‍♀️

But if you don't believe it yourself, then endless thoughts and doubts will simply not allow you to perform! 👎

♦️Well, actually, the viewer is not a fool and will always feel fake if emotions are fake🤥

Therefore, before portraying something on stage, you first need to really feel it.

I had performances where I entered the role until trembling in my knees and really felt what I wanted to show on stage - to tears and hysteria🥺

♦️A great way is to listen to music with your eyes closed and pay attention to what sensations occur in the body at the same time, what emotions and associations are born. What is the feeling in the music itself?🎶

You need to disconnect from external stimuli and listen to the song alone. Better several times.

Try to completely immerse yourself in this mood and this emotion. Our body reacts in a fantastic way to music, but only if unnecessary thoughts do not interfere with it.

You can try just moving around to the music and see where your body is taking you. Often, such experiments become part of the final project's choreography 🩰 and are the most valuable and authentic!💎

♦️The dynamics of tension - the beauty of emotions on stage is when they change throughout the performance. Changing the mood and state of the character is what attracts the viewer and causes catharsis - empathy and ecstasy from watching the act💎

♦️A good piece is like a good story, and an artist, in fact, should be able to tell a story with movement and make the viewer empathize 🥺and maybe think🤔

♦️Relationship with the viewer is also an exciting topic.

Perhaps, it is somewhat reminiscent of acquaintance, sympathy, and a whirlwind romance💞💞💞

If the viewer empathizes with you, the act is a success. If not, the topic is not disclosed, and the viewer remains disappointed 🤷‍♀️and even a little deceived. Of course, he will not tell you this but will simply bury his phone during your act📲

Therefore, you need to interest the viewer from the first note, from the first movement, and at first glance. And keep his attention throughout the entire number!

♦️Of course, the most aerobatics is when the state of the hero changes during the performance. That is, he was cheerful but became sad, or vice versa.

Those numbers in which the hero suffers all the time or is having fun all the time and his emotions do not change during the dance - they become dull and quickly bore the viewer👎

♦️Many people are scared to open up on stage, but as soon as you do it, you will get an incredible thrill! 🎉Emotional performances always stand out among many 💎 - today, acrobatics are shown by everyone, but not everyone can convey feelings.

♦️After all, if you have already decided to perform - do it for real! Become your character, live his story, bring yourself to this metamorphosis🎭

It's really worth it!- Do not be afraid to give vent to emotions!

Dance with all your heart, dear friends!💃🕺

Have fun in total, and you will be happy!
